There was no big vision. No long-term plan. Just a desire to put our music out on cassette tape, which quickly evolved into “Why not others’ too?” 12 months later, this ‘pandemic project’ has kept us focused on music, our scene, making new friends, and being creative.

There are so many incredible bands that we’ve been fortunate enough to connect with and by doing this, been able to curate a very special breed of record label and sound for punk infused people. Our friend Richard made a comment that stuck with us and that was that Tarantula Tapes has created little time capsules during a time when musicians are struggling so hard. “You’re creating keepsakes that said ‘shit got really bad but it still happened, it still existed, and here I am.” And here we are; celebrating our first year as a DIY label steered by an unbridled enthusiasm for punk rock.

Thank you to all the bands for trusting us with their music and vision. Thank you to all our friends for their support. Thank you to all the new friends we’ve made on this journey.
